Lynda ran a high-profile fabric design studio in Whangarei and sold internationally. She acknowledges the inspiration of her mother who was artistic and started Lynda's interest in textiles. After raising two daughters, Lynda began designing and making clothes for family and friends. She decided to focus on fashion at Northland Polytechnic and completed the 2-year diploma in Fashion and Textiles. She enjoyed the textiles component of the course and after graduating she set up a printing studio with a retail space attached. They generated a product range of their own designs and specialised in original designs for the client. Lynda also did one-off commissions, working closely with the client to achieve their look. Lynda produced her own colour range and a unique "contemporary Northland Pacific" design, inspired by the local coastal area. A lot of her work went overseas; there have been international commissions for Holland, Fiji, Samoa and the Cook Islands, concentrating on the resort industry including interior fittings for locally built luxury launches.
