Sue Pearson is a Norfolk Islander currently living
and working in Whangarei.
She has a Bachelor of Visual Arts from Newcastle University
in Australia where she graduated in 1988 with a major in printmaking.
After working as a graphic artist in North
Queensland and Rarotonga, she started up her own business on Norfolk Island,
designing and printing on both paper and textiles for the Aatuti Gallery.
Besides silk-screen printing Sue uses a relief
printing technique combined with dyeing. Sue's work is a reflection of
her rich heritage and the natural environment of Norfolk Island.
She has been inspired by the richly-coloured
fabric designed and printed in Tahiti.
Sue currently produces fabric lengths garments
and interior furnishings for export to Norfolk Island, Australia, Hawaii
and the USA and is interested in working with NZ product designers.
