Printed Shirts
This section provides image galleries of printed shirts. This resource has been developed to provide a source of inspiration for artists and designers using Maori and Pacific art and design as a starting point for printed fabric and for creative costumes and textiles.

Although many of the shirts featured here are imported or manufactured in countries other than New Zealand they have been included in this 'virtual' collection to reflect the influence of the Pacific in New Zealand.

Pasifika Festivals
The images in this collection were photographed at the Pasifika Festival held in Auckland.

This festival celebrates Pacific culture and has been an annual event in Auckland since 1993.

Private collections

These shirts are from the private collections of members of the research team as well as their friends and associates.

AUT Fabric Printing Students

These shirts were designed and printed by students learning fabric printing for one year on the Certificate in Fabric Printing at Auckland University of Technology.
